A Potters Studio Summer School 2010

Join a small group of enthusiastic potters for a week in Penicuik during the Penicuik Arts Festival with potter Jane Kelly, from Monday 23rd to Friday 27th August and Monday 20th - Friday 24th September from 10am to 3pm daily. Throwing, handbuilding, raku and smoke firing. Beginners welcome.

Cost £150 includes workshop, materials and light refreshments; extra firings at cost.

The Meadows Pottery Edinburgh - Pottery Classes

Our classes run continuously through the year and are taught in our Edinburgh workshop, with a maximum of 4 people in each class. Lessons focus on throwing, eventually covering the whole making process from clay to kiln. As classes are ongoing you can book in at anytime if there are spaces available. NEW CERAMIC EVENING CLASS

Deepfired Ceramic Studio in Govan will be running further Monday night ‘Introduction to Ceramics’ courses this year and Wednesday evenings will be a flexible evening where people can come and use the facilities, materials and technical assistance to work on their own projects.

The introductory course will introduce you to the techniques involved in ceramic art including throwing, hand-building, mould-making and decorating techniques. It will run for 8 Wednesday evenings from 6.30 to 8.30pm, from the 4th August – 22nd September and the 8th October – 26th November. The course fee which includes tuition, materials and kiln firings is £120.

The Wednesday Ceramics will run on 4th August – 22nd September and the 8th October – 16th November. The fee is £120 which includes materials, firings and technical assistance. Please call to discuss your project before booking on to this block.

Mansefield Studios - Pottery Classes

Tom Butcher offers sessions for beginners (approx 2 hours) making a mug (or whatever it turns into!) for £25 per person.
He is also happy to offer classes for people with more experience, or pottery parties for children.

A new and exciting degree level course that is more career-focussed than a traditional BA (Hons) Degree. This is a two-year full time course with a strong vocational element.
